The inn - with six rooms in the colonial main house right on Main Street of East Hampton and a carriage house out back - became an inn in 1770, hence its famous name.
But most of us are regulars of 1770 House for its famous local Acabonac grass-fed burger, served only in the lower level tavern. With a nice clean martini, it’s one of those classic moments you try to re-create over and over again.
The formal fine dining restaurant on the main level is also wonderful.
Highly recommended - upstairs or downstairs.
