I just can't get enough of markets. Wherever I go, I seek them out. And there is a special market in Madrid, the Mercado de San Miguel. And while the rule of a market is to nibble and sample your way through, never stopping too long, trying as many stalls and food types as humanly possible, we do find ourselves getting comfortable in one particular stall each and every time without fail.
We love the Galician corner named Morris. Octopus, percebes (barnacles), navajos (razor claims), and fresh uni, those delicious briny little things that put oysters to shame, must not be missed.
The Mercado is open until midnight, and 1am on Friday and Saturday nights. A perfect way to spend your evening.
