When you enter Lazypoint, I hope you say, My God, look at this.
I’m Brazilian, so I love carved wooden things. I just found this little parrot — look how cute it is!
That’s really what I love most: the hunt. I don’t buy anything online. I have to see it, touch it, fall in love with it. That’s when I know it belongs here.
Those little Japanese pineapple glasses — so sweet. And look at those yellow glasses, aren’t they the cutest? It’s not about whether something’s signed or important. It’s about whether it tickles my fancy. I spend so much time here, so everything I bring into the shop has to be something I love. People shouldn’t live with things they don’t want to look at every day.
I have no particular measurement or standard. It’s very organic. I buy what I love — for me. And then my customers, who are the best, end up loving it too. They take pieces home that I chose for myself, which is really sweet.
I adore the tiny little markets. But one of the larger markets you may have heard of is Brimfield in Massachusetts. It became very popular and prices are also higher now. You need a lot of energy to go through it. When I’m there, I take my time. I’m not one of those people who rush in to grab something. If it’s mine, I believe it will be over there waiting for me.
