Claudja Bicalho curates Lazypoint like she lives—intuitively. Here, she shares her favorite makers, memories, and muses.
A lot of the accessories I carry come through customers. Either people introduce me to makers or they visit Lazypoint we end up becoming friends. That’s how I met Jen Proudman — she came into the shop last year and said, I make jewelry. I loved it right away. Now I carry her pieces, and we’re becoming friends. It’s so nice to have that kind of connection.

Nina Runsdorf makes such beautiful jewelry. She’s so creative, so chic, and also very simple-hearted. I describe her as a farmer who loves diamonds. I don’t carry a lot of her things because it’s very expensive — her pieces are gold, emerald, diamond… high sport. Right now I have her silver things, but she’s bringing more. And I wear her pinky ring with a diamond all the time.
Suzannah Wainhouse is also a farmer who makes gorgeous jewelry, making pieces that feel like soft core meets hard core. She’s also the creative director at Sagaponack Farm Distillery.

Another woman came in, bought a ring from Nina Runsdorf, and when she went to pay, she put her bag on the counter. I said, Oh my God, I love your bag. And she said, I make them. So now I carry those too. Her brand is called Harman. She makes them in Italy, but lives in New Jersey. She also became a friend.

I also let people do trunk shows here. I love helping people figure out what they’re good at. If you see a piece you love, ask me who made it. Chances are, they’re a friend now.
