From Marilee, of Marilee's Farmstand:
The Milk Pail in Water Mill is Jen Halsey Dupree’s family farm, and she’s the best.
Jen’s one of the busiest people I know, but somehow she’s incredibly efficient. She’s got a great relationship with Cornell University (who are growing varietals on her property), and she’s one of those rare people who really gets it – deep roots, smart farming, and a kind heart.
The farm is beautiful. You can visit the Milk Pail year-round for apples, baked goods and pantry ingredients.
But in the fall, their U-Pick orchard is one of those places that’s not exactly hidden, but just quiet enough to still feel special.
And if you haven’t tried their apple dumplings (sold during the year-end holiday season only), well—you need to. It’s an entire apple baked in a pie crust, retaining all the natural sweetness of the apple. They’re one of the best desserts in the Hamptons.
If we ever have fruit at Marilee's Farmstand, it's from Wickham's (on the North Fork) or the Milk Pail.
