From Karina Forrest, Loaves & Fishes Foodstore:
Loaves & Fishes' baby food is something my mom started when my oldest brother was a baby.
He’s thirty-seven now, so it’s been almost forty years. Everything’s made fresh with the most wholesome ingredients — almost the entire line is organic.
We do chicken, veal, yellow vegetable, green vegetable, and a blueberry-apple combo.
The only thing that isn’t organic is the veal itself, because organic, grass-fed veal is nearly impossible to source. But it’s plume de veau — the highest quality we can get. We take what goes into it seriously. Even the chicken dinner has a little liver because it’s great for babies’ health.
For kids who don’t love pureed food, try the yellow vegetable mix with flour and an egg — make little pancakes. Soft, easy to chew, and full of the same nutrients.
50 Sagg Main St, Sagaponack, NY 11962, USA
Loaves & Fishes Foodstore has been part of Sagaponack since 1980. Now in its third generation with Anna Pump's daughter and granddaughter at the helm, the market stays true to real food made from scratch. The menu changes weekly — keeping locals excited while preserving favorites like curry chicken salad, schnitzel, sesame noodles, and that must-have molten brownie pudding.
