The Church β a renovated Methodist church turned arts centerβ opens its doors for Sag Saturdays with two offerings: one free, one ticketed, both connected to the human need for connection.
The Church's fall exhibition celebrates three years of its artist residency program, featuring work from over 40 artists across painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, and video.
From 2021β2024, the residency hosted 128 artists and thinkers βsome from around the world, others from the South Fork βproviding living space, workspace, and opportunities for community collaboration.
The exhibition is free, though donations are welcome.
At 6 PM, The Church screens Jamie Diamond's short film Skin Hunger, programmed in tandem with the exhibition.
The 26-minute documentary explores loneliness and the rise of professional touch practitioners.
Following the screening, filmmaker Jamie Diamond, Director of Photography Matt Cianfrani, producers Amy Lawday and Abby Russel, and Ella β the touch practitioner featured in the film β will join for discussion and Q&A.
