We live by the beach (sometimes) and on an island (always) and must know all the great takeaway spots for beach food. And our LA insider and contributor sophsaproblem tips us off to one in LA:

"Bay Cities Italian Deli & Bakery is great beach food, and a staple in Santa Monica.

"Most people love The Godmother hero with prosciutto, ham, capicola, mortadella, provolone and mild or hot peppers.

"While personally The Godmother is not my thing, they have a variety of many other yummy sandwiches, including pre-packaged ones, as well as macaroni and other salads.

"As I said, it's good beach food. And their bread is really great."
