Here's your last chance to see a one-of-a-kind show at Guild Hall.
Called Functional Relationships: Artist-Made Furniture, the exhibit examines the work of East End artists who've ventured beyond their primary practice to transform materials β from surfboards to foam β into extraordinary design pieces.
Featured artists include Scott Bluedorn, Liz Collins, Quentin Curry, Peter Dayton, Connie Fox, Kurt Gumaer, Mary Heilmann, Yung Jake, Donald Judd, Julian Schnabel, Karen Simon, Strong-Cuevas, Mark Wilson, Robert Wilson, Evan Yee, Nico Yektai, Almond Zigmund, and John Chamberlain β best known for his metal sculptures but here shown in a surprising new light.
To expand on these themes, Guild Hall commissioned two companion projects:
β’ Lindsay Morris offers a photographic look at artistsβ homes and how furniture shapes these personal spaces.
β’ Almond Zigmund's Wading Room installation in the Marks Family South Gallery invites visitors to move, interact, and sit within an imaginative environment.
Don't miss Scott Bluedorn's eye-catching surfboard chairs.
And take your time in the Wading Room β it's designed for conversation, relaxation, and experiencing art as part of daily life. The colorful, playful space is energizing.
