From Cyndi, Montauk:
While most people think Montauk shuts down after autumn, locals know about Inlet's annual December boat parade party. Decorated boats cruise through the harbor while you watch from inside the restaurant with sushi and an open bar.
$100 tickets get you 5-11 PM access to food, drinks, and prime harbor views. They clear out the restaurant space so people can roam around. If it's not too cold, they might add an outdoor bar, but mostly you're watching the parade from the warmth inside.
It's mostly locals with kids and families. It gets crowded. But it's fun. While you're watching boats pass by, if you know someone with a boat, you might get invited aboard (just bundle up). It gets cold on the water.
