Set on four lots with eight rooms across four summer-campy cottages, Hither House is a longtime Montauk hideaway with soul. It’s not a hotel room — it’s a home.

Every unit has its own kitchen and outdoor space, with a porch or wraparound deck.

Inside, it’s cozy, relaxed, and deeply comfortable. You can cook. You can write. You can sit in the sun and hear nothing but birds.

The owner Wen is my good friend and her landscaping is literal candy for the soul.

Guests come by referral — families, creatives, and even the occasional celeb who just want peace and privacy. It’s semi-private, beautifully quiet, and a ten-minute walk from the beach.

Inside Tip 📌

Since 1975, it’s been run with love (now second generation), and it shows: one guest bought a house nearby. Another met their future spouse here. You’re not on top of anyone — and yet it’s perfect for a group or reunion or meeting a new friend around an open fire.
