From Cyndi, Montauk:
I have many Montauk favorites, and these are some other places worth knowing about:
Deep Blue Vintage (Montauket parking lot) is expensive because it's vintage, but she has some really special pieces. There's also NIBI MTK in town, close to the post office. And there's Preloved MTK - completely vintage as well.
There are art shows throughout the summer and galleries that promote local artists. The gallery in town is called Lucore. In Gosman's Plaza, there's 484 Gallery that has good art shows. James Katsipis is a well-known local photographer with a gallery in town - he does surfer shots and local photography. Hello Cando is Candace Ceslow's studio and gallery - she's really good.
Indy Home Design is right next to Round Swamp and they have some cute home decor - pillows and beach stuff and prints and things like that.
The Candied Anchor is a local candy store on Main Street (near John's Pancake House). It's good to hit with kids before or after mini golf and pedal boats at Puff & Putt - you can make a whole day out of it. Sundae Fundae (near Gosman's Dock) has outside seating and self-serve frozen yogurt where you choose toppings and they weigh it. Always super crowded but great.
Montauk Chemists (where the pet store used to be) has been turned into a really nice drugstore where you can get candles and more high-end products than just CVS. Eye Gallery (took over White's Pharmacy) looks interesting - people are going in and out, and seems worth checking out.
