From Kyle Fengler, co-owner of Loaves & Fishes and Bridgehampton Inn & Restaurant:
The shift from summer to the off-season changes everything β not just at the Bridgehampton Inn, but across the Hamptons.
The weather stays beautiful, the light softens, and suddenly thereβs time again to actually enjoy it. September and October are when both locals and visitors say itβs their favorite stretch of the year β still vibrant, but calmer and more intimate.
By November, things quiet down even more. The best part is how cozy it all becomes. Fireplaces come on, the atmosphere turns festive, and more events and special dinners take shape.
The beaches stay great in the fall β maybe even better.
After the season, most no longer require passes, the weather stays mild, and the water holds its warmth well into October. It usually takes all summer for the ocean to heat up, so fall swimming feels like a hidden secret.
Even in winter, a beach walk or a cold plunge is brisk and refreshing β in the best way.
Menus move with the season. The food turns toward warmth, and the cocktail list gets more playful.
Our new Irish coffee riff β Recharge Your Batteries β layers Irish whiskey with raspberry, coconut, vanilla coffee, cream, and toasted coconut.
Iβm behind the bar Fridays and Saturdays, and often more β though I swear the moment I take a night off is when everyone comes looking for me.
Our fireplaces light up once the chill sets in β usually late October.
There are three downstairs (bar, dining room, private room) and one in Room 3 upstairs.
