Fez is Moroccoβs oldest city, with the Medina still carrying its fortress look. You wander into the markets and find crafts, artisanal goods, and the worldβs oldest continuously run library. The tanneries are another signature stop β strong on the smell, but worth it to see leather made the traditional way. Food is a highlight too, with classic Moroccan dishes and tagines everywhere.
Stay in a riad instead of a hotel. These restored old houses usually have just a few rooms and often a chef who cooks for guests β a more personal way to experience the city.
