From contributors @totale and @bslomo:
Not everyone gets taco'd out in Mexico City. But if you do, this is where you go.
HOMARE seats about 12 around the sushi bar. The chef is from Tokyo. The fish melts in your mouth. The omakase comes with three different sakes.
They also do Wagyu, cooked in the oven, and the uni is worth the trip alone.
Then there's the space - rustic, stone, lived-in, open-air like everything in Mexico City.
A beautiful Japanese hostess in traditional dress greets you by name and walks you through the menu. The service here is everything -- you're treated like a guest.
HOMARE is a special place and serves some of the best sushi we've ever had. We've never been to Tokyo, but if it's anything like this, we're booking a flight.
Go for the omakase. Let them guide you. And if you're there, say hi to Izumi, the hostess, for us.
