Tile & Style

The tile painting in Triana is one of my favorite things in Sevilla. The neighborhood is full of small ateliers, all spread out — you can visit just one or pop into many.

They’re usually family-run, and often the person you meet is the same person who paints the tiles.

You’re not talking to a hired retail clerk — you’re meeting the actual artist. They might only speak Spanish, but sometimes their kids are there and can help translate.

What to Look For

You can ask them to paint your house name on a tile — something like Villa Maria. Every piece is personal, and you’re supporting a real artisan.

Start with Cerámica Triana, and just wander from there. Some spots even offer workshops if you want to do more than eat and drink—this is a chance to really experience the craft.
