Freezing-Good Fun

I’ve done the Cooper’s Beach polar bear plunge — it’s a blast. Lots of laughter because everyone’s freezing. Go early, run in, get back to a warm car, then diner breakfast. There are year-round cold-plunge groups now; a friend is in one.

Look for Clearwater Coldwater Club or local Facebook groups (think “cold plunging in the Hamptons”). It’s easier — and more fun — with a crew.
