Cristen Motty, co-creator of the Off Hampton Film Festival and co-owner of Hampton Photo Arts & Framing, lets us in on her favorite hangouts, hidden gallery gems, and where to find (or not find) a proper Bloody Mary.
Ted's East End Market has just been there forever since 1952, and everything's great there. Their breakfast sandwiches are my favorite. Their flat top is old and everything that comes off of it just tastes delicious.
When I was in high school, we'd walk across all the fields between the high school and intermediate school, just to get to that corner and get to Ted's almost every day. We'd get lunch or something there. If not, when I worked at the IGA my whole high school career β that used to be where CVS is right now β I would hit Ted's for my dinner and then go to work.
Inside Tip πͺ
Have a breakfast sandwich. Bacon, egg, and cheese, extra runny. No tomato, just straight up. Tell them to toast the roll with butter.
Bacon, egg, and cheese, sunny side up eggs, a little runny. You might shudder on the spot. I'm not kidding. It's so good.
Ben, the first time I got him a Ted's breakfast sandwich, he was like, Whoa, WTF?" I said, It's the flat top. It's the flat top because it's seasoned with everything. It's just so good.
All their sandwiches are great. It's one of those old delis that still is an old deli. It has a smell when you walk in that just still smells like a good deli, and there's none of those left anymore.
Sure, Tedβs is a little gritty, but it's a deli. It's like the dive bar version of a deli, and you just want that taste β and that's the taste.
