Cristen Motty, co-creator of the Off Hampton Film Festival and co-owner of Hampton Photo Arts, lets us in on her favorite places.
Ashawagh Hall in Springs stands as one of the East End's most historically significant exhibition venues.
The unassuming building has hosted community art shows for generations (even showing Jackson Pollackâs work), and by prioritizing accessibility over exclusivity, it stands as a true community arts center.
Many artists who first showed at Ashawagh Hall have gone on to wider recognition, including Grant Haffner and members of The Bonac Tonic Art Collective.
For visitors interested in discovering emerging talents before they appear in commercial galleries, the hall's exhibitions provide an unfiltered look at the East End's artistic undercurrents.
Itâs a local hangout for local artists.
Keep an eye out for all upcoming events.
