Zakura offers a refreshingly approachable sushi experience with a personal touch. Owner Eileen brings the warmth — she’ll often stop by our table and sit with us. It’s the kind of place where a Christmas Day meal before the movies became a tradition for us.
The tuna salad gets Suki Zuki comparisons thanks to that distinctive dressing. They do a good teriyaki steak. But you go for the rolls: nearly 100 rolls, with the Green River Roll as one of our favorites. They name rolls after people, like Bob’s roll or Joe’s roll.
Order a favorite combo enough times, and it might end up on the menu under your name. It’s that kind of place — one bite away from becoming a regular.
