Sagaponack Farm Distillery transforms from seed-to-glass spirits haven to cultural hub this May with a lineup of events showcasing local art, music, and community gatherings. Located in a converted 1930s farmstead, the distillery offers the perfect backdrop for celebrating East End creativity while sampling their estate-crafted libations.
Friday, May 9th | 4-7PM
The month kicks off with farmer-turned-artist Peter Treiber bringing his creative harvest from North Fork's Treiber Farms to the distillery's tasting room. Expect sculptures both indoors and scattered across the grounds, creating a dialogue between art and agriculture. Special farm-inspired cocktails featuring Treiber's own produce will flow alongside his homemade hard cider — a true soil-to-sip collaboration that celebrates the region's agricultural roots.
Saturday, May 10th | 5-7PM
Chris Klein delivers the soundtrack to your Saturday sunset sipping session, bringing his musical talents to the distillery's atmospheric space. The perfect complement to a day that begins with local harvests and ends with local spirits.
Friday, May 17th | 2-7PM
The second annual Surf Swap transforms the distillery grounds into East End wave-rider heaven, where locals can buy, sell, or trade boards, wetsuits, and gear before the summer season hits full force. No music needed—the buzz of the surf community making deals creates its own soundtrack. Mattitaco's food truck provides fuel for serious equipment negotiation, while the distillery bar keeps spirits high with their farm-crafted libations.
Thursday, May 16th | 5-8PM
DJ Llama (aka Carlos) brings his legendary vinyl collection for a throwback happy hour spinning vintage tracks that pair perfectly with potato-based spirits. This local character, who also appears regularly at Almond, creates a vibe that's part nostalgic, part fresh discovery—much like the distillery's approach to traditional spirits made with modern farming techniques.
Friday, May 23rd | 5-7PM
The Second Hands — a husband-and-wife folk country duo from Cutchogue—deliver acoustic authenticity among the barrels. Their rootsy sounds complement the distillery's farm-to-bottle ethos, creating the perfect wind-down to the workweek.
Thursday, May 30th | 5-7PM
Jake Lear and Jamie Ellis close out the month with experimental jazz. This performance promises boundary-pushing sounds under open skies — the perfect accompaniment to boundary-pushing spirits crafted from Foster farm potatoes, rye, and corn.
Just down the road from the distillery, Marilee's Farmstand begins its season on Saturday, May 10th (9AM-3PM), offering the first treasures of spring. Just-harvested asparagus takes center stage alongside farm-fresh mixed greens, spinach, and arugula—all grown on the historic Foster family fields. Unlike most stands, Marilee's exclusively sells what they grow (with the sole exception of mushrooms), ensuring true field-to-table freshness that mirrors the distillery's field-to-flask philosophy.
Reminder: The distillery welcomes Sunday visitors for more intimate, event-free tastings — a perfect opportunity to experience their craft spirits without the crowds.
