Black Swan Antiques opens its doors for Sag Saturdays with complimentary rye whiskey from Sagaponack Farm Distillery and cider from the Milk Pail, served in rocks glasses from Black Swan's own "Sag Harbor 1709" proprietary brand.
While you sip, browse new prints from their W.G. Howard book β rare images of Sag Harbor and the Hamptons from 1882 to 1914, acquired from an old barn where they'd been unseen for 120 years.
W.G. Howard died in 1913, leaving behind glass plate negatives that captured life in Sag Harbor at the turn of the century β home scenes, beach scenes, candid portraits of residents.
The contents of the barn were self-published last year in a limited run of 500 books. Only 20+ remain.
The book runs $275 and contains over 209 images. Prints range from $675 to $3,500 framed, with some being shown for the first time at Sag Saturdays.
Owner Randy Kolhoff built a career designing and manufacturing furniture in the home fashion industry before launching Black Swan Antiques.
Now in its 20th year, the shop specializes in antiques of all genres β one-of-a-kind pieces with a distinct point of view.
They also carry their own signature products, including candles, drinking glasses and mugs.
