My go-to is 11th Street Bar. It's a neighborhood bar with live music five nights a week. It's just a great spot. A real gem for the city.
Inside Tip
I'm older now, and yet you can go there some nights and it's young and fun — you're like, Whoa. Then other nights, it's all 50-somethings just having a pint of Guinness. I love that about it, and I love that about the East Village too. It's the energy of the place, and it's not specifically old or young or male or female. It's a good mix.
