A Dive Bar With Gourmet Seafood

There's another spot we love in Montauk that we go to when we do venture out for dinner - Westlake Fish House. It's always really fun, and we love taking people from out of town there.

When you arrive, it feels like you're going into a dive bar, but the food is so amazing and fresh. You get to see all the fishing boats come up from the dock, which adds to the authentic experience. It feels very much like a genuine Montauk fishing village restaurant with just the most fresh, amazing food.

Local Fishing Culture on Display

We always try to bring visitors who want to experience Montauk to Westlake because it's so chill, it's on the water, and it's really fun.

They have a leaderboard that keeps track of who has caught the biggest fish coming in. It's always exciting to see how large the catches are - there's a chart showing the biggest tuna ever caught and which boat brought it in.

It's amazing to realize these enormous fish are being caught right off our shores in Montauk.

Inside Tip 🪄

The restaurant sometimes has live music in what basically feels like a parking lot area, adding to the laid-back vibe. I've been going there since I was young and visiting the Hamptons, so it's nice that it's still there and still delivering the same authentic experience.
