If you’ve got kids, our favorite Hamptons Beach is Sagg Main.
Park at the west end of the lot, follow the trail, and you’ll hit the cut – a natural flume where Sagaponack Pond meets the ocean. When it’s open, kids bodyboard down it like a saltwater slide.
Beyond the flume, crabbing is big here (though maybe just for fun – we usually throw them back). Surfers love it too – the way the current moves through the cut creates a near-continuous wave.
And if you’re lucky - almost always - you might spot whales or dolphins. Since 2021, they’ve been making regular appearances, and Sagg Main always seems to be on their route.
Looking for something quieter? Peter’s Pond is the move. Tucked just east of Sagg Main, it’s one of those classic, end-of-the-road beaches – no parking lot, no frills, just a sandy path leading straight to the water. Think Gibson or Town Line Beach – same vibe, fewer people.
✅ Sagg Main: One of the few local beaches with daily passes available.
❌ Peter’s Pond: Requires a season pass – no dailies here.
