From Karina Forrest, Loaves & Fishes Foodstore:
Loaves & Fishes has always closed in January. This is the first year in forty-five years we’re staying open the entire year. It just makes sense — for business, for the community, and for the staff we want to keep coming back.
We used to take January as a vacation month, but now we’ve built a team that can stagger time off and keep things running smoothly.
The menu still changes every week. As we move into the cold, it shifts toward comfort — more stews, braises, warmer soups.
We started with apple, fig, and pear as early as September, and now it’s all squash, pumpkin, lamb stew with kabocha — those cozy, seasonal flavors that just feel right for the time of year.

Loaves & Fishes Foodstore has been part of Sagaponack since 1980. Now in its third generation with Anna Pump's daughter and granddaughter at the helm, the market stays true to real food made from scratch. The menu changes weekly — keeping locals excited while preserving favorites like curry chicken salad, schnitzel, sesame noodles, and that must-have molten brownie pudding.
