From Karina Forrest, Loaves & Fishes Foodstore:
I grew up out here, and it didn’t used to feel so ticky. Now, we honestly don’t go hiking in the woods unless there’s snow on the ground — which is sad, because there are so many beautiful trails out here.
That said, one place we still go in summer is Mashashimuet Park.
The trails behind it are really wide — most are five feet across — so even in tick season, it feels safer. You get that beautiful shaded canopy, and it stretches pretty far, so you can really walk and enjoy the woods without worry.

Loaves & Fishes Foodstore has been part of Sagaponack since 1980. Now in its third generation with Anna Pump's daughter and granddaughter at the helm, the market stays true to real food made from scratch. The menu changes weekly — keeping locals excited while preserving favorites like curry chicken salad, schnitzel, sesame noodles, and that must-have molten brownie pudding.
