Hidden away in a not-very-glamourous street, kinda Times Square, kinda Garment District, kinda Theatre District, is this very special Northern Italian restaurant called Arno.
All the classics are amazing here. Angel hair pasta with tomato and basil, linguine with clams, prosciutto melon, tre-colori salad, chicken or veal in lemon sauce, filet of sole with capers, lemon and white wine...
Not my favourite area in NYC, but I would actually travel to go the Arno's. I guess sometimes a hidden gem is hidden because it's found in the most unexpected spot.
They've been around for over 40 years. And that says something - something really serious - for an Italian restaurant in NYC.
