ARF relies on dedicated volunteers to care for animals and support our mission — and we make volunteering as easy and flexible as it gets.

From walking dogs and socializing cats to helping at adoption events or working in our thrift shop, there are meaningful ways for everyone to make a difference, meet new friends, and be part of the community.

Complete a quick orientation once, then come whenever you like — once a summer, every weekend, or three times a day.

Even one hour a week can positively impact an animal’s life.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

Volunteer Orientation 📌

Before starting your volunteer journey at ARF, you'll attend a brief orientation at the ARF Adoption Center.

You'll meet the animals and staff, learn ARF rules and protocols, and enjoy a short tour of the grounds.

⏱️ Orientation lasts 45–60 minutes.

With Dogs 🐕

Walk and socialize

Assist at in-person adoption events

Bring dogs to ARF special events

With Cats 🐈

Cattery Assistant (clean and feed)

FurKid Socialization Program (work one-on-one with shy or under-socialized cats/kittens)

Assemble litter boxes

Operation Cat (caretaker for a feral cat colony)

Foster kittens in your home

Store display and design

Merchandise sorting and pricing

If you have professional expertise — photography, retail, advertising, fundraising, or other talents — please let us know!

Inside Tip 📌

Anyone 16 or older is welcome to stop by ARF’s cattery anytime to spend quiet moments with cats who love the company. There's no sign-up or scheduling needed. And those younger than 16 are welcome - if accompanied by a guardian.
