Mono Zeug is one of the most distinctive flatware designs available today, and Loaves & Fishes Cookshop in Bridgehampton carries the full collection.
Designer Michael Schneider created the line in 1995 to mark the 100th anniversary of his family's flatware business in Mettmann, Germany — the town where Neanderthal remains were discovered.
Each piece references early human tools: the knife mirrors a hand axe, the slender fork echoes primitive spits, and the spoon recalls a cupped hand.
The flatware is crafted from 18/10 stainless steel with hardened blade steel knives.
The knife is hollow inside for better balance, and all pieces are dishwasher safe.
It's functional design that happens to look striking on the table.
See It in Person (or on FaceTime) Loaves & Fishes Cookshop has been Bridgehampton's go-to spot for cooking and entertaining essentials since 2003.
Stop by to see Mono Zeug alongside other MONO flatware designs and everything else you need for preparing, serving, and gifting.
