They shot up overnight — Marilee’s asparagus.
When I told Marilee I’d only had supermarket asparagus, she gave me a look — and told me I’d be surprised. She was right. Just olive oil in a hot pan, a few grinds of black pepper, and a sprinkling of flaky Maldon sea salt. The bite was a snap and a crisp burst of water, grassy and bright. A totally new vegetable.
Marilee’s Farmstand opens Mother’s Day weekend, Saturdays from 9-3pm during the month of May. You can also find the spears at Sagaponack Farm Distillery. They're open Fri-Sun.
