From the Wax to the Stacks

We’re hosting our second annual Surf Swap at the Sagaponack Farm Distillery this year — Sat, May 17th.

The idea started from wanting to bring the local surf community into the space in a fun, open way. It’s not a formal event, it’s more like a casual afternoon where people come, bring boards, trade, sell, hang. Super social. Super easy.

Monte Makes It Happen

We organize it with Uncle Monte — he’s been here forever and runs Strictly Surf in Amagansett. He’s got deep roots in the surf scene, and he’s the one who spreads the word. He’s connected to all the surfers, and runs camps, gives lessons — he’s just really tapped in. 

Not Your Typical Event

Last year was amazing. People showed up with boards to trade or sell, I had other vendors on the lawn, fun cocktails, tons of beer — surfers love their beer — and it just became this whole afternoon of talking, laughing, reconnecting. It was one of those days that just worked. Everyone wanted to do it again.

Inside Tip

Officially 2-7pm, but stay as long as you wish. No need to book a table. It’s a mingle, roam, say-hi-to-everyone kind of thing. It’s about breaking out of the usual “stuck at your table” routine. That’s the whole point. This year we'll have Mattitaco's food truck, too.
