Trends? No
I pay no attention to trends when buying for Lazypoint. Iโm a funny fashion person โ I love fashion, but I like personal style more than anything. I like individuality. I like when people come in and put something on and say, Ohโฆ I look beautiful in it, independent of who else may be wearing it.
Iโve always loved the whole high-low mix. You put on something and feel chic enough to go anywhere. I follow what feels good on the body. I donโt follow trends.
A lot of the time, I do see what would look great on a customer who walks into the store. But I like them to walk around first. I want to see what they pick. And then Iโll say, Try this with that, or Maybe this instead. Because the way we see our bodies and the way other people see our bodies is so different.
Then I like to push the envelope โ just a little. If someoneโs not used to a color or a shape, Iโll say, Just try it.
Clothes can provoke something. They awaken something inside you that was already there, but maybe pushed down. Iโve seen it happen. Like this woman I knew that went full punk rock in her 70s. It was amazing. She looked really good. And a certain confidence came out in her. Thatโs the power of clothes.
