From Loaves & Fishes Foodstore:
Baking bread has always been part of what we do here. We make our own loaves and also bring in excellent bread from local bakers and from Brooklyn through Featherstone.
Our everyday staples are a classic white sandwich loaf, a wheat loaf, and our house-made baguettes (though sometimes we source those too if they’re just that good).
One of the most-loved breads we make is our 10-grain. It’s fluffy despite the hearty mix — thanks to Bob’s Red Mill blend and honey for just the right crumb.
Our cinnamon bread is another favorite, with cinnamon-sugar swirls that turn into candy-like pockets when toasted. Perfect with butter or as decadent French toast.
Every Friday we make cornbread from scratch. And although it’s not always on the menu, I love making cardamom bread by request — a rich, slightly sweet, raisin-studded loaf inspired by my Scandinavian roots, often braided in the traditional way.
If you want something special like the cardamom bread, just ask ahead. With enough notice, we’re always happy to make it for our customers.
50 Sagg Main St, Sagaponack, NY 11962, USA
Loaves & Fishes Foodstore has been part of Sagaponack since 1980. Now in its third generation with Anna Pump's daughter and granddaughter at the helm, the market stays true to real food made from scratch. The menu changes weekly — keeping locals excited while preserving favorites like curry chicken salad, schnitzel, sesame noodles, and that must-have molten brownie pudding.
