Snap, Crackle & Pop

Photographer Christopher Makos —one of the original chroniclers of the Warhol era — is quietly selling limited edition prints at Barryville General.

As a teenager in the mid-’70s, Makos met Andy Warhol and was absorbed into The Factory, quickly becoming Warhol’s go-to Polaroid photographer.

There were no selfies then — Makos captured everything: Andy with Liza, Basquiat, and more.

He later helped with silkscreens and played a role in launching Interview magazine. His work now lives in museums and private collections — and a few rare pieces are available right here.

Behind the Prints

Makos met us upstate, struck up a friendship, and this series are now offered at our the Southampton shop.
