Bar Pisellino is a little Italian gem on the corner of Grove and 7th Avenue — close to the subway, a little too bustling, and yet somehow perfect. It feels like the kind of alleyway bar you'd find in Rome or Naples, with sidewalk tables on both sides and a rhythm that invites you in.
They served a beautiful martini with a side carafe on ice — whatever was left in the shaker.
The Amaro selection is excellent, and the bartender made us a Montenegro spritz on request: equal parts Prosecco and Amaro, no sparkling water, just large ice cubes and a generous lemon peel.
I even asked for the ratio — it was one-to-one.
This is your go-to spot for a single, perfect drink — whether it’s mid-afternoon, pre-dinner, post-ballet, or just before heading home.
It can even be a cappuccino, but not too late, as they clean the machines about 30 minutes before closing.
Also: don’t miss their pirate chandelier. It's a nice decorative touch.
