British artist Margo McDaid (above) has made a name for herself across the pond. And now, sheâs bringing her bold, pop-infused portraits to the Affordable Art Fair in New York City.
A former teacher turned full-time painter, McDaidâs Lady Paintings began as a personal tribute following the tragic loss of a student. Since then, her work has struck a chord with collectors, with over 16,000 pieces sold worldwide.
At this yearâs Affordable Art Fair in NYC, her booth was a must-visit, drawing crowds of buyers eager to take home one of her signature pop-lady portraitsâranging from US$100 to $6,000.
We saw piece after piece find a new home, and, naturally, couldnât leave without one ourselves.
If youâre in New York, donât miss your chance to discover Margoâs world of color and character at the biannual AAF at the Metropolitan Pavilion. She'll likely be back at the next fair. Youâll be charmed, too.
If you couldn't make it to the fair, you can still explore McDaidâs work at her Margate and Ramsgate studios in the UK or online at margoinmargate.com.
