We've been here in Sagaponack for generations, working the same soil that now grows our produce and powers our distillery. Over time, we’ve watched our family farm evolve into a few different identities – the distillery, the farmstand, the restaurants we partner with – but at the core, they are all expressions of the same thing: our connection to the land.
Marilee and Dean don’t always talk about it: what makes what we do so special starts before anything is ever bottled or sold. Our raw materials are grown clean and pure. No herbicides. No GMOs. Open-pollinated crops grown with real care. We farm holistically, not just for the sake of sustainability, but because it's the best way we know how to grow and make things.
Originally, our roadside farmstand was a small, self-serve operation. You’d weigh your produce and leave your money in a tin. These days, we have a full-time attendant and a full season of rotating crops — but the spirit is the same. We’re still growing with intention, still offering vegetables that are fresh and local.
We’re not just feeding people. We’re trying to preserve something. A way of farming. A way of life. One where the land gives back what we put into it – and with the spirits we bottle there’s another story to tell. All farm fresh, local, and deeply personal.
Many of the local restaurants from Southampton to Montauk serve our vegetables. If you see Sagaponack or Hamptons produce on the menu, ask where they're from. There's a good chance it's from us.
This card was written by the team at Sagaponack Farm Distillery and its Tasting Room, based in Sagaponack, New York. We are farmers, distillers, artists, and suppliers of the most beautiful vegetables to local restaurants and the community. Visit us for cocktails in the field at our tasting room and patio. We look forward to introducing you to our spirits, our distillery, and our family farm of six generations that makes it all possible.
