All winter at Alpina Swiss Bakery weâve been doing fondue and raclette experiences on the weekends.
I got the idea from this tiny chalet in Rougemont, Switzerland called CafĂŠ du Cerf. Itâs the place everybody flocks to for the best, most authentic fondue and raclette â and we try to recreate that atmosphere here.
Itâs super authentic, down to the salad. Everyone gets a mash salad â thatâs lambâs ear lettuce here â and the second course is a tasting of raclette. Then comes the main event: a big pot of fondue. I always offer both raclette and fondue courses. I feel really strongly that no one should walk away having only tried one.
Thereâs this wow moment too. I show up with the raclette and the melter and do the cheese swipe at the table â thatâs when you hear the gasps.
During the summer, you can book a private event at the bakery, or weâll bring the whole setup to your home. Itâs like dropping a little slice of Switzerland right into your dining room. đ¨đ
