Tea with a View ☕

I seem to only go out for afternoon tea in NYC when I'm meeting a friend from out of town. (I really should go more often!) But it's a delightful and relaxed way to catch up, quiet enough for conversation, and altogether lovely.

A Seventh-Floor Escape

We'd never been to tea at Bergdorf Goodman before but we will certainly be back. The setting is exquisite — BG Restaurant is a very stylish room. In fact, the entire department store is stylish — an utterly beautiful space, and an oasis of calm in midtown.

Best of all is the view, overlooking Central Park, which comes with a feeling of luxury and being above the fray on the seventh floor. (We were quite literally above it all this time — a parade was in full swing and it was a treat to see the festivities from on high. Get a window seat if you can!)

Royal Treatment & Quiet Luxury

The food was great: sandwiches, scones, and pastries. If you spring for the Royal Tea Service you get to enjoy some champagne along with your meal. (And if tea is not your thing, you can have lunch!)

Inside Tip 🪄

I understand it can be a bit crowded on weekends and around the holidays, so if you've got some free time midweek in any month but December, it will probably be more relaxing.

Ask for a window table for that iconic Central Park view — it’s the real crown jewel of the experience.
